Bhagat Singh Day at Swecha Knowledge Centre , Vijayawada

Bhagat Singh Day at the Swecha Knowledge Center, Vijayawada was a meaningful gathering that brought students and volunteers together.

The celebration began with a movie screening of The Legend of Bhagat Singh. The movie gave everyone an opportunity to understand Bhagat Singh’s journey, his thoughts, his struggles, and his vision for society. After the screening, participants shared their thoughts and discussed the ideas that stood out to them.

One of the most interesting activity “Write your Revolution” went with a simple question:

“What If Bhagat Singh were alive today, what would he fight for?”

Participants responded in offline and online with an Instagram poll based on the issues they see around them.

A Few people shared different perspectives based on the issues they see around them. Some wrote about inequality, student rights, and the freedom to express themselves.

What stood out to us most was the response from the kids. They wrote about the problems they see in their own surroundings – drainage problems, polluted air, corruption, lack of freedom to express, and many other challenges faced in society.

It was interesting to see how they connected Bhagat Singh’s ideas with the problems they experience in their everyday lives. Their answers reminded us that the questions can still make us look at our own society and ask, “What is the change we want to see today?”
