Friendship Day at the Swecha Knowledge Center, Vijayawada was a wonderful celebration of friendship, creativity, and community bonding. The event brought together students and volunteers from different colleges to spend a meaningful day learning, sharing, and having fun.
The celebration began with a movie screening, where participants watched Rang De Basanti. After the screening, everyone engaged in discussions, sharing their thoughts and perspectives on the movie. It encouraged meaningful conversations and inspired participants to reflect on friendship, responsibility, and social change.
The fun continued with interactive games that filled the venue with laughter and teamwork. These activities helped everyone connect with new friends, strengthen existing friendships, and create unforgettable memories.
One of the most meaningful activities of the day was creating eco-friendly friendship bands. Instead of using plastic or synthetic materials, participants crafted handmade bands and wrote values that define true friendship and responsible citizenship. Each band carried a unique word such as Rebel, Caring, Love, Freedom, Empathy, Sacrifice, Equality, Kindness, Hope, and Solidarity. Rather than just exchanging bands, participants exchanged these values, making the activity a powerful reminder that friendship is built on respect, compassion, courage, and care for both people and the environment.
